GUIDE

Combined overlay

A combined overlay puts several death counters, win/loss displays, timers, and chat overlays on one transparent page. OBS only needs a single Browser source.

Create a layout

  1. Open Dashboard → Overlay and click New.
  2. Click Open editor for a full-screen canvas (default 1920×1080).
  3. Pick a canvas preset (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, or ultrawide) or type a custom size. Positions are percentages, so switching size later does not scramble the layout.
  4. Drag counters, timers, or chat from the left palette onto the stage. Resize with the corner handle. Chat stays inside its box on the live Display URL.
  5. Changes save automatically. Use Revert if you want the layout from when you opened the editor.
  6. Copy the Display URL into OBS as one Browser source, or use Add to scene in the OBS dock.

Named layouts have their own URL (https://services.shinyarmor.net/view/overlay/12?key=…). Mark one as current to keep a stable /view/overlay/current link while you swap scenes.

Tips

  • Add to scene in the OBS dock uses the layout’s canvas size. If you paste the Display URL yourself, match the Browser source width and height to the canvas (positions are percentages, so other sizes still work).
  • Do not stretch the source in the preview after setting width and height.
  • You can still open each overlay’s own Display URL if you prefer separate sources.
  • Optional: upload or drop an OBS screenshot in the editor as a faded background so you can line widgets up. It stays in the editor only.
  • The OBS dock can add a combined overlay with Add to scene.
